ACDE’s statement on the importance of teachers and teacher education in the post-COVID reality signals new education priorities and where investments in teacher education, teachers, and research are needed as a recovery strategy. Priority areas are mental health and well-being; Indigenous education; ongoing professional learning for educators; community-based education initiatives; and investment in research and development. ACDE calls on governments and post-secondary institutions to invest in a national strategy for teacher education recovery post-COVID-19.
