New Eurydice Publication :: The Teaching of Regional or Minority Languages in Schools in Europe
Today is the European Day of Languages, and Eurydice celebrates linguistic diversity with a new publication on regional or minority languages. Did you know that some 60 regional or minority languages are promoted by education authorities across Europe? Which languages are they, and which countries are supporting them? The report provides an overview of current policy efforts in Europe that support the teaching of regional or minority languages in schools. More concretely, it presents some examples of national policies and measures as well as some EU-funded projects that promote the teaching of these languages.
