Call for Proposals

CSSE’s 52nd Annual Conference dates are tentatively Wednesday, June 12 (preconference day) to Monday, June 17 (postconference day) as part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Congress 2024 will take place at McGill University in Montréal, Québec. The theme for Congress 2024 will be confirmed soon.

Submissions are due Wednesday, October 11, 2023 (23h59 Eastern). Proposals received after this date will not be considered.

Submitting a Proposal

Log in to the CSSE Members’ Portal: https://www.assocsrv.ca/csse/index.asp?LANG=E

Renew (or purchase) your CSSE membership. The person submitting each proposal must have a current CSSE membership valid until the end of the conference.

Upload your proposal and supporting details to the submission platform. Submitters will be directed to the submission platform from within the Members’ Portal. Proposals sent by any other means will be not accepted.

Types of Presentations

CSSE features multiple session formats that are intended to reflect the diversity of research and scholarship in education. Submitters should select the format that best reflects the goals of their proposal.

When submitting your proposal, you will be asked to indicate whether you would like to present your work in person at the host institution or online via the conference’s virtual platform. Online sessions will be selected with a priority toward sessions that focus on equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization. Due to infrastructure limitations, CSSE will only be able to accommodate a limited number of these requests. Unless selected for an online presentation, all authors should be prepared to attend and present in-person. We appreciate that authors’ personal and professional circumstances may shift the format(s) you are able to participate in. We will accommodate as many requests as we are able to support, and look forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s conference.
